Bathroom Flooring Trends

If you're planning to remodel your bathroom with bathroom furniture, you'll need to choose flooring that's complementary to your scheme. This is largely aesthetic: most bathroom flooring ought to be laid on a flat surface and it certainly it does no harm to ensure that your floor is level before you lay your flooring - so you're unlikely to have any wobbly cabinet issues after you've installed your bathroom furniture. Tiling your floor and walls in the same tile can be beautiful or it can be overpowering - it depends on the size and colour intensity of your tile, the size of your room, and on your personal taste too.

Bathroom Flooring Choices

Have you chosen a wooden finish or a black or white finish for your bathroom furniture? If you've got a lot of wooden bathroom furniture, a wood or wood-look floor may not be the best choice. If you really love natural materials, think about using a natural stone instead. Wood flooring: Solid wood flooring is visually warm and warm to the touch too, and it looks amazing. Engineered wood (real wood fixed to a layer of ply) is far better. Has a tough, waterproof top coat - but if water gets through and soaks in, you'll end up ripping your flooring out and replacing it.

Bathroom Flooring Lowes

Cork resists rot, even when wet, and absorbs sound too. Vinyl: comes as tiles, sheets, or wood-effect planks. Stone: natural stone is porous and will need to be sealed and cleaned with care. It's expensive, too, and cold underfoot. Ceramic and porcelain: grout can become discoloured and grubby if it's not sealed, but the tiles themselves are durable, easy to clean and non-porous. Seal the grout for ease of cleaning. Wall hung bathroom furniture is a great solution to this conundrum, combining the practicality of fitted bathroom storage with the beauty of a totally clear bathroom floor.
